Xiaomi has started teasing the Redmi 10 Prime, its latest Redmi smartphone for India. The Redmi 10 Prime will arrive on September 3, although it is unclear if Xiaomi plans to release the device globally at some stage. We would be surprised if the company announces the Redmi 10 Prime at its next global launch event though, scheduled for September 15. Instead, Xiaomi is expected to utilise this event for the Pad 5 and 11T series.
Xiaomi bills the Redmi 10 Prime as having ‘superstar’ features, including its camera, processor, and battery life. However, this will be a mid-range smartphone rather than a flagship, so this is likely marketing hype more than anything else. For example, the Redmi 10 Prime has a MediaTek Helio SoC, which means it will lack 5G connectivity. The teaser website also states that the handset has an adaptive display, presumably between 60 Hz and 90 Hz. Overall, the Redmi 10 Prime seems like a re-branded Redmi 10, as the Redmi 9 Prime was to the Redmi 9 last year. Hence, we imagine that the Redmi 10 Prime will also have a 5,000 mAh battery, four rear-facing cameras and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
