iPhone XR still occupies the top-selling smartphone made by Apple even though there are already three new iPhones output 2019 – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max – in the US market.
Data from the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) said the iPhone XR accounted for 36 percent of iPhone sales in the US in the third quarter of 2019.
CIRP conducted a survey of iPhone buyers in the US by looking at the weighted average retail price because Apple no longer provided data on their average selling prices.
Quoting 9to5Mac, the CIRP research also shows that the latest iPhone is no less popular than the iPhone XR model, with sales reaching around 20 percent in the US in the same quarter.
Consumers in the US are quite considerate when buying an iPhone 11, they see whether the features are commensurate with the price offered.Among the three iPhones released this year, iPhone 11 is the most widely bought by US consumers, around 9 percent of the total 20 percent.
Meanwhile, consumers who choose the iPhone 11 Pro amounted to 6 percent of the total sales of the three iPhone 11. While the iPhone 11 Pro Max accounted for 4 percent.
Other consumers, considering price and features, chose to buy last year’s flagship, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. The results of the sale of the two smartphones, when combined almost match the sales of the iPhone 11 Pro model.
